10 Companies that hate gays - my take

I got a really long winded email today about all the reasons that gay people should boycott the following companies. I am going to give you the list and the link and let you read all the reasons for yourself if you would like. For now just take my word for it.

To all of the straight people in my life who support me. Please know that when you spend money at the following companies a certain portion of that money is used to hurt me. It might not be a lot, but you know the saying "every little bit helps." In this case it hurts. A lot.

To all the gay people in my life, you already know how much this hurts. You know how it feels to be second-rate. You know what its like when the most important thing in your life - the love you have for someone - is used as bait to get conservative voters to the polls to elect people who can't win elections based on their economic or leadership expertise. Many of you probably heard Ann Coulter and the Conservative Political Action Committee (the base of the Republican Party) call John Edwards "a faggot," on national TV, to the sound of uproarious laughter from the audience - that is why they can't win on their own they let their mouthpieces off the leash. You've been denied the right to adopt children, you've been denied the right to marry, you've been denied visitation in hospitals, you've been harassed, beaten and fired. I don't need to tell you why its important to spend your money at companies that support us, or at the very least don't go out of their way to hurt us.

Comment all you want, but if I don't like it I'll delete it. I am not trying to make some sort of free speech blog here, nor do I declare being unbiased. I don't care if I'm right or wrong, so if you don't agree with me don't expect your comment to last very long.
